Avalon Christmas was recorded in the home of a friend of the band on November 17th 2002, it was originally intended as a 'thank you' to all the people who had been so helpful and encouraging during the year but was picked up and distributed throughout the North of England by a brewery chain to over 200 outlets.

A copy was sent to Radio 2's Desmond Carrington as a particular thank you for playing tracks from our albums and helping the music to reach a larger audience, "Ding Dong Merrily On High" was played on the show on 22/12/2002.

The striking cover illustration is by Pat Clarke who augmented the cartoons he had drawn for Avalon Road before adding some Christmas robins as a final touch.
